Creative visual arts represent the foundation of the creative industries, including animated films, games, comics, and more. In this realm, concept art and character animation play essential roles in bringing worlds and characters to life.
Concept art serves as a blueprint for world-building, allowing artists to develop various aspects to establish the look and feel of characters and environments. They work with visual style, layouts, and composition to explore and enhance the narrative.
Character animation is the process through which characters of all kinds come to life through movement, acting, and theatrical performance. Often referred to as the ‘illusion of life,’ character animation captures the essence of personality and emotion, allowing audiences to connect with animated figures in a profound way.
However, at the core of the creative industries lie story and imagination, which tie everything together into a coherent narrative. Imagination breathes life into the narrative, introducing unique perspectives and innovative ideas that challenge conventional thinking.
About Your Coach
I’m an experienced digital art educator, who offers personalized creative digital art coaching to individuals. My coaching programs aim to help individuals develop their artistic skills, technical strengths, and above all to cultivate a creative mindset.
I guide my students in finding their personal art style and authenticity. I also provide support in overcoming common challenges such as procrastination, self-confidence issues, and creative blocks.
My process involves an initial consultation, goal setting, a personalized coaching plan, and regular live 1:1 sessions. Prior art experience is not necessary, and coaching is open to individuals of all ages, with parental consent required for those under 18.
If you’re struggling to find your purpose, focus on your passion, I will guide you. I emphasize effective communication and flexibility. My goal is to motivate, and guide you through your own creative journey.
Creative Visual Arts Subjects
I began teaching in 2012. I have worked with hundreds of students and developed dozens of international courses under departments of Digital Visual Arts, Animation and Game Design (my Art Portfolio, my Instagram, my Youtube).
I have vast experience with academic management, teaching in international higher education, instruction in training courses, coordinating student projects and digital artwork creation for creative industries. I have worked internationally in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, Moldova, the US, the UK, and Romania. Both remote and on location.
In my coaching, I focus on demonstrating the workflow in everything I do. I emphasize an iterative process of conceptualization, where I continuously refine and improve ideas. I also highlight the technical aspects of our work, helping clients understand the practical applications and tools involved. This approach enables them to navigate their own projects more effectively.
My teaching expertise lies in visual storytelling, for films and games, from beginner to advanced levels:
- Drawing, sketching, painting, illustration.
- Creative sketchbook or art journal.
- Conceptualization for props, characters and environment.
- Character animation.
- Modeling and sculpting.
- 2D, 3D with integration of Creative AI.
Coaching System
My art coaching is a personalized mentoring program or 1-on-1 training focused on individual needs. Sometimes, it can also be conducted with a small group. However, we always have one purpose, to achieve a harmony between goals and skills.
My art coaching helps individuals gain knowledge, build artistic skills, develop technical strengths, and, above all, cultivate the right attitude by approaching the process confidently, gradually, and creatively.
Imagine creating without any struggle, but instead with pure joy! The experience is designed to bring forth the resources, workflows, and awareness you need.
Over the years, I have developed my own system to help individuals find their personal art style and authenticity.
My personalized digital art online coaching program incorporates various elements:
- Concise theory with guided demonstration.
- Practical exercises with in-depth feedback.
- Reference analysis and brainstorming discussions.
- An attitude of creative mindset.
- And, I will literally show you how to do it.
Art Coaching is also a Creative Life Coaching
As your coach I can also help you with different challenges or life situations that a life coach works with. The secret is that the more you grow as a person, the more you grow as an artist, and then, the more you create with high degrees of creativity and complexity. This is actually personal development!
Common challenges my students face are procrastination, lack of self-confidence, difficulty with focusing on the process, fear of public speaking, insecurity of sharing personal art-work or just lack of energy in a long-term process.
I can help you with:
- Gaining self-confidence.
- Becoming more creative and inspired.
- Becoming more productive.
- How to write a cover letter.
- How to get ready for a job interview.
- How to apply to an university, to jobs.
- How to manage your job challenges.
- How to ask for a raise.
Steps in Getting Started
There are four steps in getting started working together. My coaching process involves an initial consultation, goal setting, a personalized coaching plan, and regular live sessions.
Step 1. Introduction Message
Send me a message and introduce yourself. Use the contact form on my website, and I’ll confirm your request within 48 hours. Mention your interests, your current skill level, and share any artwork you have (if you have any).
Step 2. Goal Setting
We will start with a free-of-charge session of 40-60 minutes which I call “Get to Know Each Other”. We get to know each other to establish the goals based on your current skill level and needs. By the end of the session, you’ll have a very good understanding of the overall framework and costs.
Step 3. Personalized Coaching Plan
Based on our previous interaction, I’ll get back to you with a brief overview in a fixed number of sessions and checkpoints. If you find my coaching proposal inspiring, I’ll set up our online class and we establish the day/hour together.
Step 4. Regular Live Sessions
We are just one click away from each other, and all we need is to get in sync. Typically, we meet once a week via Google Meet. During certain periods, we may have 2 to 3 sessions a week, depending on needs and availability. Each session is 60 minutes long and includes a mix of discussions, workflows, and plenty of feedback.
Payment
The payment is a fixed fee per hour or per 60 minutes. My fee includes the live session, preparation based on your specific needs and the support between sessions. It also varies from a beginner to advanced level of complexity.
- Payment after each session.
- No advanced payments.
- No extra charge for the time spent over 60 min.
- No cancellation fee if its done with a prior notice.
Technical Infrastructure
You’ll need your own hardware and software. Any specific software will be introduced along the way, depending on the needs. However, you do not need to purchase membership for Google Drive and Google Meet. I’m the one supporting the storage space and time conference.
This is what you’ll need:
- Google Drive for files sharing.
- Google Meet for live streaming and recording.
- Email and What’s-Up for chats and follow-up outside the class.
Productivity tools that I use are:
- Pinterest, a visual search engine to brainstorm and find inspiration.
- Miro, a collaborative workspace to organize the keynotes.
- SyncSketch, a collaborative tool to review and analyze videos frame-by-frame.
Popular Questions
Can I Cancel or Pause the Course?
Absolutely. I value open communication and flexibility, so you’re welcome to take breaks or cancel. However, if you miss a live session without prior notification, a 50% session fee will apply to cover my reserved time. If taking frequent breaks or pausing becomes a recurring pattern, I may suggest ending our collaboration to maintain the integrity and consistency of the coaching process.
Do I Need A Portfolio Before Starting?
No portfolio is required. We begin exactly where you are and build from there. My coaching program provides clear, step-by-step guidance that’s easy to follow and tailored to your individual pace. That said, I do work selectively with clients who are genuinely committed to learning, self-reflection, and growth. Your willingness to engage and stay open to change is the foundation of a successful coaching journey.
How Long Can I Continue the Training?
My coaching program is structured around a set number of sessions, each designed with a specific goal in mind. However, the journey can naturally evolve into long-term training as we continue building upon your progress and working toward increasingly challenging goals. The ultimate objective is for you to develop creative and technical skills and gain a deep understanding of how everything connects, so that, in time, you can confidently find your own answers.
I’m Under 18 — Can I Still Be Coached?
Yes, my coaching services are open to individuals of all ages. However, if you’re under 18, parental consent is required before starting. What truly matters is your curiosity, willingness to learn, and openness to explore new ideas. Age isn’t the main factor — it’s the connection and chemistry between us that make the coaching experience meaningful and effective.
